Privacy policy in plain terms.

How BlackSeaChem EOOD handles personal data under the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679. Short version: this website does not track you, and we only hold what you choose to send us.

Last updated 19 July 2026

1. Who is responsible

BlackSeaChem EOOD, Marine station - Burgas, Burgas 8000, Bulgaria (EIK 208772027, VAT BG208772027) is the data controller for personal data described in this policy. You can reach us at info@blackseachemicals.com.

2. What this website collects

Nothing, unless you send it or sign in. Browsing this website sets no cookies, runs no analytics or tracking scripts, and embeds no advertising or social pixels. There is no consent banner because there is nothing to consent to — tracking cookies are the kind that require consent, and there are none here.

Signing in is the one exception. A login cannot work without a cookie, so signing in sets strictly necessary session cookies that keep you signed in and protect the form against cross-site request forgery. They do not profile you, carry no advertising identifier and are shared with nobody. Sign out and the session ends.

There is one form that sends data to us: the quote request. What you type into it — your name, your company, your email address and your description of what you need — is transmitted to us when you press send, recorded against your enquiry, and emailed to our own inbox so we can answer it. Nothing else on the page is collected, and there is no hidden field.

Every other button on this site still opens a pre-addressed message in your own email program rather than sending anything to us — the quote bar, the newsletter field and the contact buttons all work that way. You remain in control, and nothing is transmitted unless you choose to send that email.

One exception worth naming: if you use the tracking box in the header, the reference you type is placed in the page address (/bsc/track?ref=…) so the page can show it back to you. Web addresses are routinely recorded in server and hosting access logs. Do not put personal or confidential information in that box — send it by email instead.

3. What we hold when you contact us

When you email us or submit the quote request, we hold what you send: your name and contact details, your company, and the content of your enquiry. If we go on to quote for or handle a shipment, we also hold the commercial and transport details needed to do that — consignor and consignee details, addresses, goods descriptions and the documents the movement requires.

4. Why we are allowed to hold it

To take steps at your request before entering into a contract, and to perform that contract once made (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR); for our legitimate interest in responding to business correspondence and keeping records of it (Art. 6(1)(f)); and to meet legal obligations that apply to a freight forwarder and a registered Bulgarian company, including customs, export-control and accounting law (Art. 6(1)(c)).

5. Who else sees it

We do not sell personal data and we do not share it for marketing. We disclose it only where the work requires it: to the carriers, agents, warehouse keepers and insurers engaged for your shipment; to customs and other authorities where the law requires; to our professional advisers; and to the providers that host our email and business systems, who process it on our instructions.

Where a shipment moves outside the EEA, the transport and customs data necessarily travels with it to the carriers and authorities in the destination country.

Confidentiality and data protection are also addressed in clause §10 of our terms and conditions.

6. How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not lead to business are kept only as long as they are useful and then deleted. Where a shipment or an invoice results, the records are kept for the periods required of us by Bulgarian accounting, tax and customs law, and for as long as a claim under the transport arrangement remains possible.

7. Your rights

Under the GDPR you may ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it or delete it, ask us to restrict or stop processing it, object to processing based on legitimate interest, and ask for it in a portable form. Write to info@blackseachemicals.com and we will respond within the period the GDPR allows.

If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your data, you may complain to the Bulgarian supervisory authority, the Commission for Personal Data Protection, or to the authority in the EU country where you live or work.

8. Changes

If we add anything that changes the picture above — a quote form that submits to us, analytics, or cookies — we will update this page and the date at the top before doing so.
